What our numbers are, what they are not, and how much weight to give them.

These are estimates, not measurements

Every figure BenchPair produces is the output of a mathematical model built from published hardware specifications. Nothing on this site is a measured benchmark result. We have never run the games in our list on the hardware in our database.

The model is calibrated so that its relative ordering matches well-established real-world relationships between products. That makes it useful for comparing options. It does not make it a substitute for benchmarking your own machine.

What the model cannot see

Treat purchasing decisions accordingly

Use our results to narrow a shortlist and to understand which component is limiting you. Before spending real money, cross-check against measured benchmarks from independent reviewers for the specific parts and games you care about.

Hardware is expensive and every machine is a little different. Please treat our numbers as a well-reasoned starting point rather than the final word.
